mechanically everything works(regulator, motor, etc), what keeps the glass in the regulator? I've seen an $11.00 part called a "retainer", and if there's adhesive to be used also ,what kind? Simple fix, just need some direction.

So, it's a 1996 !!! I was thinking it was older for some reason.

«1996 Continental Table of Contents»
«Group 01: BODY»
«Section 01-11: Glass, Frames and Mechanisms»
«DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION»

Window Glass, Door

The bottom of the door glass is mounted on a slider bracket that is part of the window regulator mechanism.

Snap-in nylon inserts provide attachment points for the glass and prevent direct contact between the glass and the slider bracket (rear door only).

Mike should be able to confirm.. it looks to me that the glass has two mounting holes near the bottom that get secured to the regulators... or maybe that's only the rear doors/glass ???
