carb problem

ok this is a weird 1. im no carb guy so ineed a bit of help. my 85 s10 (1.9l DCH340 2 bbl carb) just got a new remaned carb. after start up with the newcarb it was puffin thin black smoke out the exaust and when i tapp the throttle the exhaust blows thick black smoke and the exhaust sounds like a backfire but no flame at the carb. im thinkin the new carb is cleanin the engine. so i got some seafoam to help it out. i ran it through the engine through some vacuum hoses on the intake manifold and it smoked like hell. i did a idle mixture and throttle speed adjustment followin my haynes for the truck and now the engine has no power and rock back and forth at idle and does it harder as it accelerates.

im at a loss here

you should try bending up the float just a hair or you could find out what all the fine adjustment are for it :rolleyes:
