map light wont shut off

I have a 2001 alero. We were driving and the map light came on. It was still light out so it didn't really bother much.
I couldn't get it to go off. I was able to get the bulb out after burning my fingers:rolleyes: I used a ink pin cap to remove it.

Anyone had this problem? What did you do to fix it?

I've never had this problem, but I would suspect a faulty switch. As long as it's confined to only one light, then it's most likely the switch that operates that light. If it's more than one light, such as the floor lights also, then it could be a door switch.
