As the title says. It is prohibited, and will not be permitted.
As ever, you are more than welcome to sell items to members here using the classified thread. However free advertising here for Ebay auctions is contrary to the spirit of this community, and will not be allowed. :disappoin
Thanks, and build (and trade) on! :p

Really? Wow I've advertised several auctions before, might have to go and read the rules again.

Hmmmm, I don't see any problem in directing forum members to your eBay listings. It is, however, nice to offer your kits first to forum members before posting on eBay.

Take this into consideration.
AF has Vendors who pay for the right to advertise here.
We have people with Ebay stores posting in the classifieds to advertise auctions.
Those people with Ebay stores aren't vendors.
We have to clamp down on Ebay listings to be fair to our AF Vendors.
Thank those with Ebay stores using the classifieds to advertise for ruining it for everyone.

Someone's always gotta find a loophole!

This policy has been inconsistently enforced in the past. Some people have sometimes gotten away with advertising external auctions, and some people haven't. This thread is only to ensure that everyone is aware of this policy, and to state that enforcement of it will now be consistent (and fair).
We're certainly happy to encourage trading in this community. Obviously AF and its advertisers make nothing at all from trades here between members, but it's a cool thing to have in this community. However advertising external auctions comes much closer to profiteering on AF membership, and AF's advertising policies are clear on that practice. We're just closing this loophole.
