I have a 95 cavalier 2.2 and on my car theere is a plug on the bottom of the tranny. Theres two wires, ones purple and one is yellow. All you have to do is splice a toggle switch into one of the wires and when u want to go over the set speed flip the switch. I havent tried it myself yet but everyone I talked to said thats how it works. It does void your warranty if you are leasing the car or bought it from a dealer just so you know. Try it out and see if it works.

Acually all FI cars are governed by the ECU the only way to change that is either to get a device that plugs into the ECU and bypasses the gov or get a new ECU.

Ok guys, ther is a gov for all the 95+cav's i know that for sure. It is code in the ecu that controlls that, and you must get a reprogrammed ecu to kill the gov. The dealer WILL NOT do it for you, legal reasons.
NOw, i know there is the toggle switch method that DOES work, but is very stupid and ignorant, for many reasons. First, unless you upgrade tires, the stock tires are rated at, guess what, 108mph (when the gov kicks in). Second, cutting the circut causes your cluster to die, not spedo at 110mph+ is not a good idea, and last and most important
IT DISABLES YOUR ABS! Which can be your very best friend at 120mph. Just dont do it, it's a bad idea.
