General Engine Swap Questions

Ok so im not saying i want to do an engine swap on my car, too much work and money, just not worth it. But i had some questions lingering, and i wanted to just ask around and see if i can't learn somethin...

Ok so lets say i want to swap from an older GM motor, to a newer GM motor from a different model car. a good example could be a 3.1L V6 being removed, and replaced with a 3.8L V6 Supercharged...now i can deal with making it mount right and work out that way, but would all i have to do is swap the engine, and the ECU that ran it...and i'm good to go, or is there a lot more to do...

also i can understand changing fuel capacity if i need to...or adding a boost gauge...and taking care of all necessary connections to stuffs...

any info would be grand!

you would need to piggy back the ecm to the new PCM, which thier different ODB systems so thiers goin to be issues.

Best way would be to use the entire wire harness from the newr car and just change everything out with just one PCM thats ODB II or CAN.

To much trouble IMO !

yea your right, that is too much trouble, just isnt worth it for this car. But thanks for the reply. I didnt even think of the OBD difference...and just curious, what exactly do you mean by IMO?
