the SHO IS FINALLY COMPLETELY FIXED!!! the hard shifting and hesitations at the get-go and shifting was ALL because of an intake tube vaccuum leak! the stupid accordian tube was leaking!. The car shifts beautiful now...

BUT i just happened to bump into my buddies stock GTP today on the streets and uh... it was no competition. i was kind of disappointed...

Just got all 8 intake tubes and brackets along with the valve covers powdercoated... LOOKS GREAT
Plans for a CAI are on order. waiting for the parts.
Planning on cutting out the cats completely
Want to remove the secondaries in the LIM but how exactly?
thinking about the SCT X3 Flash tuner...

what else is there to at least get this thing into the mid 14's? possibly mid 13's?

Good job in finding that leak!

I caution you against removing the secondaries. If you do, you'll be experiencing driveability issues all over. Too much air at low rpm. A friend's Duratech Contour had an issue where the secondaries were stuck open all the time. When the engine was warm, it ran okay, but a bit sluggish. However, when it was cool outside and the engine was cold, it would stall or barely idle. It was like the EGR was stuck open, or like there was a bad vacuum leak. You now know what happens when there's a bad vacuum leak! Do you want to experience that all the time? Your Wisconsin fall and winter are not much different than Iowa, so I think you'd be very disappointed with the secondaries removed.

As for mods to help the performance, you'll probably have better luck checking out what others have done here (www.v8sho.com).

If you're really looking for a fast SHO, you'll want to find a Gen 1 or Gen 2 V6 with the manual transmission though.

thats what i thought. im gonna be keeping this 98 for a while though and cant stand getting walked on in it :shakehead. possibly thinking about a supercharger or something of the sort... v8sho.com has a lot of info but their perf section lacks horribly.

There's no supercharger available for it.

Good luck removing the cats. the front two are integrated into the y-pipe I believe. However, these guys make a y-pipe with high flow cats - http://shosource.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2&products_id=108&osCsid=2cf1dca85e203aa4ff1962146040458f

You may want to try to track down the contributors to this article (http://www.v8sho.com/SHO/So%20What%20Will%20a%20Supercharged%20SHO%20Produc e.htm) as well as review some of the sections of the "Engine" modifications listed here (http://www.v8sho.com/SHO/modifications.html).
