Im changing the motor mounts in my 89 v8 camaro. I've never changed motor mounts before but had a general idea of how it was done. Jack up the car, jack up the engine, old mounts out new mounts in. Everything was going as easy as all that until when it came time to unbolt the mounts from the frame I noticed that I cant get to the nut on the back side of the bolt. Part of what I think is the steering knuckle. Its kinda like a plate but it has has a pretty big spring pushing it down. Its pretty apparent that it has to come off but big springs make me nervous. I dont wanna take the wrong bolts off and end up breaking something or myself. I have a chilton but it doesnt talk about the motor mounts or how to remove them and all the other stuff thats in the way. So a quick run down on how to remove that piece or what that piece is would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance

Okay after alot more searching and asking questions I've learned that the piece in my way is the lower control arm. So to revise my question. Do I need any special tools to remove this? Should I put a jack underneath it since its gotta spring behind it? Any help would be greatly appretiated.
