Hi guys, hopefully you can help me with this. Out of a sudden, my power windows stopped working, my speedometer/odometer/ rpm gauge stopped working, and I cant shift my shifter out of park unless I manually over ride it. I checked all the fuses, everthing is fine, I looked for loose wires and couldnt find any. Im not much of a mechanic so Im not sure what else to do. Do you think all these problems are related, bc it was quite the coincidence that all of it seemed to have happened at once. And if not, what can I do to figure out whats wrong? Any help would be really appreciated.

pull back the carpet on the passenger side floor, look for a blinking light on the shiny box, if its blinking, just take it to a mechanic, i dont know if there is a section on here for how to count the codes but I dont feel like telling that story, if you wanna try it yourself count the blinks, see what that code means, and attempt to fix it. How does it shift when you are driving? Is there anything else that isnt working?

No, those are the only problems that Ive noticed so far, as for the shifter, its an automatic, and the shifter works fine once Im able to get it out of park, but once its back it park, its stuck, and I have to over ride it again to get it out. Ill look for the codes and hopefully that helps. Thanks for the tip, I didnt even know that was there.

I'm sorry, I meant how does the tranny shift while you're driving? Is it harsh, does it seem like it revs really high, is there a blinking light in the cluster, I dont know, I was thinkin tcm but teh window thing is weird, there is a relay for the windows in the main box under the hood.

As far as the shifter problem goes, change out the brake light switch. It is very easy. It is by the brake pedal. It has one plug on it and a couple screws mosts of the time. There is a signal that goes to the shifter and will not release that shifter if it goes bad unless you over ride the system. If this works hopefully the rest of the stuff will work again. I have not heard of anything else working in sinc with it though. Good luck
