have a 1980 5.0 & AOD in a 87 ranger..
from a stop the trans will shift 1-2-3- before 20 MPH with out slipage..
goes into overdrive at 40 MPH ,slips going in and slips if I accelerate a little heavy..
the fluid is a little over full and does not smell burnt..
the kick down cable is gone and a spring holds the kick down lever on the trans towards the engine.. the trans also has a B&M shift kit..
I don't understand if the kick down cable is just for passing gear or if it is also a throttle pressure too.. anyone know a fix for this problem??:banghead:
