Why would you sell the stang? What are you going to drive while you build the firebird? I thought you supercharged the stang?

I would keep the Mustang instead of doing up the Firebird, but thats just me.

Yes the stang is forsale, over 300rwhp but I wanted more power !! build the firebird 5.7L is cheaper and easy then build the stang, ford just hard to work on, chevy is easy to work on and more powerful. and alwasy well know around here. This also change the way automatic tranny to me, I alway though manual away better then auto, but this time im going with auto. The reason why I need to sell the stang because, I need the moneys, mabe im off with the car for about 2 week, because most part and engine part already at the shop, just need to pay for it, and drop a carb engine in is way way easy then fuse inject engine, Im just too excite right now.

The only thing that makes cars hard to work on is lack of experience and not having the capacity to learn as you work. :/
The mustang & F bodies have just as much to offer as one or the other however I would roll with GM.
One thing to keep in mind though..you'll want a 350 , 383 , or 400 sbc motor and pray to god that firebird doesn't have the cursed 305 underpowered boat anchor.

There is nothing wrong w/ 300whp, why would you get something else that needs alot of work to go fast when you've already got a power house that runs fine? You should keep the Stang and use it as your DD/fun machine and then just keep the Bird as a project car and slowly make it fun that way your not out a vehicle.

You think the stang is hard to work on?
Whoever said camaros are easy to work on is full of shit. I don't know about your year cam/bird, but I have some experience workin on the 94+ bodystyle camaro and it is a bitch. You lookin at like 8 hours just to change spark plugs and wires.
But yeah, I always thought manual trannys were the only way to go, and that automatics were for sissys, but after building up our camaro....if I had a muscle car you best beleive it would be automatic. The turbo 350 transmission is a beast when built....changed my whole outlook on automatics. The chevy small block is also a great engine. Yes carburated is easier and less crap to tear up as opposed to complex electronic fuel injection....but your gas mileage is gonna be shit.
I second keeping the stang and using the firebird as a project.

I'd personally get a 700R4 if I were you for a tranny. Its a 4 speed and it can just as easily take power when built, but IMO the extra gear is well worth it. I agree as well, auto's are the way to go in V8 cars... unless you get a T-56 there isnt much that can take the torque.

The stang sell for 6,5k.
Yes its a bitch to work on F-body, but do you ever look at third gen 92 years under camaro or firebird engine bay ? its huge and alot alot space to work on and very easy ascess, I can change spark plug for less then 30 min, but I do rather work slow and gap right, I like take time. we plan to pull the pos v6 with v6 700r4 out off the car tomorrow.
The 350 will stroke to 383, and will rebuild 700r4 with heavy duty street/strip tranny.
The stang has to go, its sad but I do choose my way to do it. GM FTW ?

Killa is right guys. I have worked on a 93+ f-body before and they are impossible to change the two back spark plugs because of the windshield coming down so low. It is a terrible car to work on... But the 82-92 f-bodys are so easy! I used to sit in the engine bay of my Firebird while I would be working on it. That is how much space I had with the v-6 in there. The v-8 doesn't take up too much more than that. But the windshield does NOT hang over the motor bay making it a great car for swaps and working on...
Of course the subframe of the f-bodys are weak and yet the car is so heavy. If you do this killa, make sure you do some subframe connectors to strengthen it up a bit... I would suggest taking the route of a 383 stroker with a built 700r4. It's a great combo. :)

The beast is in the house. Just pick this motor, he work in the day, and I work in the day and night, so its hard for us to work on engine together, tuesday is the only day off i have, so Im so itchy about picking up this engine, so 9:00pm we come to the guy house, pay cash and pick up the engine, went home at 10:30pm and try to load the engine in the garage, my neighbor is sleep, and you guy already know the cherry picker is a noise bitch, its so noise its woke my dad up, and after he bitching about it, he went back sleep, we tear down couple thing to check the engine, spark plug is bad because he ran on street gas, the car is 13.1 compession :banghead: the car is build for race track, and its had good stuff inside the engine, but we going to tear it apart and make it for street and weekent warrior car, so piston and cam will forsale , I can look into my friend eye that he really want tear this engine down right now, but we had to wait another day. he some pix and more will come. enjoy guys

So let me get this straight, you're tearing down a built 350 to make it "more streetable"? Do you know exactly what the parts are that are in the motor, like the pistons and cams? I might be interested in taking those off your hands if they're what I'm looking for. What are the casting numbers on the block and heads?

So let me get this straight, your selling your Mustang to fix up this Firebird for a DD, but your putting all this upgraded parts on it to make it faster when gas is getting up to $4.00 a gallon. When your Mustang could have saved you on gas? :screwy:
Don't get me wrong I the swap your doing, but I would have picked a diff car for a DD. Put keep up the work, looks like its comming along really nice. MORE PICTURES!!

My all motor 350 already had enought power, to take out the mustang I had, like people say, "Mod a ford just to take out the stock GM". gas price is what we had to deal with. no matter how high gas price is, we all had to buy it:frown: . I like wat I am doing, and its way cheaper than doing to the mustang,
$500 for engine with camel head ( fresh )
$250 for rebuild kit
$75 cam
150-175 shot ( cant desice yet )
$500 HD tranny
plus couple hundred for suspention and tire and gears.
Machine work and labor is free :naughty:
Plus im selling the v6 3.1L with auto tranny, and piston and cam from the 350, i could make back couple hundred, so I dont really loose any thing.
for under 2k, you have a street and strip warrior, insurance is alot cheaper $25 a month cant beat that :) , and more can be add to it later. selling the stang for 6k, I still have 4k left over for my wife and kids :evillol:

On saturday we have change to meet up again and tear down the engine, but its not come out like I thought it would be, the owner told this engine is running on alcohol , but some time running on 93 octain, we pull the plug and its all faults because it running on pump gas, and he say the car is bored over.60 but its only .40, we dont have time pull cam and other stuff out, but we will do it next week, btw I still own the guy $150 and promise him that I will pay this week, but after tear down the engine, I see couple stuff that he say wasnt like he told me, should I still pay him the moneys or deal with him ? I dont want to pay him now until we tear down more and check for problem. we had hard time taking the v6 motor off, because the engine mount bolt is fucking strip :banghead: , we try every thing, heat it, burn it, spay it, try to bang a smaller socket with a hammer,
if any one know a strick to take the bolt off, please let me know, its the only last bolt we had to take it off. here some pix enjoy
I will get engine stand this week, my friend just wanted tear down the engine right away, he dont care its on the tire, he just want tear it apart, he a hungry beast  .
