Fitting problems with the Revell F2005 ?

I am just in the middle of building my F2005 from revell and I must say the fit is just really pathetic... I was basically trying to fit the side bits onto the actual base - i am not sure what it is called.. is it the bargeboard or something. Anyway, the plastic seems to need to either be cut or distorted slightly for it to fit right... even then, there are gaps! I am not sure if it is only me or do anyone else have any other problems?? I don't think I'll be buying anymore revell F1 kits - and prob. a lot less of thier other kits. They are so bad, no details and I just think they are more hassle than they are worth! Rather pay double or tripple the price for a tamiya kit which has a lot more detail and at least I get satisfaction when I build!:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I suppose it is like getting a car! I bought an RX8 as my 1st car about 3 days after I passed my test and my friends think it is crazy as a first car, but then again, I thought to myself - since I am really into cars, I KNOW that I will change from something quite sensible (maybe a clio or something lol) to something fairly sporty prob. a few months after I get board of a runaround!:uhoh::uhoh:

Revell kits can certainly take some, ah, patience in dealing with fit issues. Revell is actually one of the more inconsistent manufacturers out there- some of their stuff is rather good, and some rather isn't. The newish F1 kits (since '05ish) are supposed to be a real improvement over their older F1 kits, but that's not to say they will be trouble free.

If you can post some pics and descriptions of the bits you're fighting with, maybe we can offer some help.

I'll post some piccys up later :) Thanks for your help! I actually was about the throw the model away I was so annoyed just no :P I think I will keep that kit on hold - almost done but still a few hours needed.

Not sure I'd quite say simple- :grinno: :rolleyes: but it is a great kit with no real problems. It fits together exactly as you expect it to, and my only complaint is that the engine is practically invisible with the body on- rather a shame with as nice as the engine detail is. But you'll enjoy building it, I'm sure.
