Need door panel insert help...

Has anyone changed the cloth/leather insert panel?
I just aquired a set of the nice powered seats from a G20t and I need to modify the door panels to match the black leather seats.
Anyone know the best way to go about it, as well as a good source for materials? I can get the door panels off, but upholstery is not my forte.

I have modified my door panels. The insert is tropical green vinal, and the surrounding panel is tan tweed. The whole interior has been upolstered in two tone tan tweed and green vinal. I just took everything out and went to a local custom upolstery shop. I will have some pics soon. I would not mess with the insert on your own, take it to a upolstery shop. Here are some general prices you will have to pay for the work.

MATERIAL

vinal runs $18-$25 per sq. yard
tweed runs $20-$20 per sq. yard
leather runs $45-$65 per sq. yard

LABOR

Door panel: approx. $100 labor each
Dash(already taken apart) $200-$300
Dash(if they have to take apart) $350-$550
Seats $225-300 each

Good luck on the project, post some pics when you're done.

Is your vinyl insert smooth or did they do the rippled effect?

Hay Radical, how about posting a couple of pics of your interior?
