Hey guys and gals, just have one quick question....
My GTP has interior lights that light up the driver and passenger floors when the doors are opened, but My girlfriends se does not have both. We took her car one night, and when we got out, the only side that was lit up was the drivers. I thought just a bulb was burnt out, but when I checked there wasnt even a socket for one. Her car is a 2002 Grand Prix SE. I did check a wiring diagram, and it says i should have one, but I think that it was just a generic wiring diagram used for all 97-03 se's gt's and gtp's.
What do you guys think? anyone got a 2002 GP SE? Do they have passenger front floor lights?
I'm thinking they were cut on the se models to slash costs.
Any Ideas? Just curious. Thanks Guys!

If it does, there will be a hole in the cover that goes over the blower motor assembly where it mounts. It's one of those small "peanut bulbs", so if anyone ever worked on the blower motor before, they may have forgotten to put it back in or not bothered if the bulb was burned out.

Thanks guys, I'll look harder. I've never had to replace one, so I dont know exactly where I'm looking. I think I remember it having one when she first brought it home, but cant say for sure. Thanks for the help, I'll check again before I open my big mouth....

This reminds me about the old mystery about the door lights when you open the door(s) as part of the interior courtesy and entry lighting system. Also, they would turn on when you hit unlock on the RKE or turned the dimmer to the full on position. They went solely to a reflector only I recall in the 2001 and up model years. Plus all the wiring and lamp sockets were removed.

Ok, so your saying that the 2002 se never had a passenger side floor light? Thanks for clarifying, I thought I was going crazy there for a second.

Not really. I was only speculating. :uhoh: Electrical and accessories varies among the specific models and years from '97 - '03. I just cited one example with the door panel lights. As usual it is best to verify in the respective GM FSM wiring diagrams for that year or against another 2002 model SE to confirm.
