sohc trouble

Hey guys
my car is acting up latley
whenever im driving it and get on the throttle even a little bit, its like the engine starts stumbling, and my car starts vibrating, like when your in too high of gear going too slow, but worse
it does it at all ranges of rpms, and once in a while it will do it even if i barley give it gas right after letting the clutch out
i have quite a few mechanic buddies who've done a little checking, nothing real in depth, and the spark plugs/wires has kinda been ruled out, maybe a possibility though?
i was thinking the fuel filter,maybe the fuel pump, or worst case: the ecu
just wondering if anybody has had any similar experiences, or has any guesses to what it may be or knows if something as simple as a bad fuel filter can cause this? (i know how big of a pain it is to change them on a 3s)

Do cap, rotor, wires etc. I had a bucking issue in mine once that turned out to be some minor rust on the rotor button. Replaced it and issues went away.
