I read here how to clean out the manifold to EGR pipe to correct the check engine light. I didn't clean it out good enough and the problem came back. I removed the throttle body and removed the intake manifold. I immediately was able to see the problem. There is a small hole leading to the pipe going to the EGR valve. I power washed the intake manifold ( off of the vehicle) and I ran a wire through the pipe. I have already driven the vehicle about 4,000 miles with no check engine light. Thanks to everyone who is giving good advice on this web site because my smog check guy wasn't able to help me at all in regarding to this problem.
