U bend delete

I plan to take the u bend out of the exhaust sometime in the near future on my 02 GT. Do you recommend to order the u bend delete and have a muffler shop weld it in or have them make one? I plan to install a high flow cat on there as well. I have been getting this high shrill out of the original cat at high rpms so I imagine it has quite a bit of carbon buildup. What do ya'll think?

I'm getting th exact same thing done this weekend at a local muffler shop. Apparently it's not the uncommon, and the GP's aren't the only cars with such an issue.

I was told there is no need for the Ubend delete, as most muffler shops should have pipe on hand. I bought a Maganaflow High-flow cat, and having the guy remove the Ubend and resonator and run a straight pipe from the cat to the Y-Pipe.

He's not charging me for the extra pipe. So it's no reason for me to buy the Ubend delete.
