I've never heard of it- has anyone used it/know anything about it? Acrylic lacquer, acrylic enamel or aqueous acrylic? What's the best thing to thin it with? Clearcoat with?

Andy, from reading the description on their page, I am guessing that the paints are similar (in type if not quality) to your favorites of old - Cobra Colors.
They mention that the paints "buff out to a VERY high shine" which I suppose means they have a gloss finish. Zero paints on the other hand are a base paint and "no clear, no shine" technology :)
If they are original automotive paints, I don't see a good reason why the product should be bad.
I was rather intrigued by the concept of "interior colors"
The "where to find color codes" page is very useful though!
It might be a viable alternative for US based customers but, given US postal restrictions, it's not going to replace Zero paints for this European modeler.

I have ordered from Scalefinishes before and he does excellent work. All of the colors are spot on and are packaged in bottles with eye droppers ( a huge plus as far as I am concerned) They were kind enough as well to include a sample of the thinner and clearcoat, and they work great. I will post some pics of the Audi R8 that I am building using the Daytona Grey Pearl paint supplied by Scalefinishes. Overall I WILL be ordering from here again he was able to match paint codes that I needed from 1948 through 2008 and had superfast delivery to top it off.

I've place my first order based on your testimony :). I'll post results as I get around to it. :)

Thanks guys.
I guess the biggest thing is modeler use. Kind of hard to want to buy something you know nothing about until someone else has used it. At least that is the case with me.
I was intrigued with them when I saw the paint listed on ebay. I'll still wait and see for more observations, only because I have no need at this time.
