88 thunderbird stereo installation

Hey guys, I have an 88 thunderbird which I'm trying to install a stereo in. The previous owner already installed an aftermarket tape deck, but I would like to put in new 3.5" and possibly 6x9s. The wiring in this thing is ridiculous. Each speaker has 4 wires going to it. I assume that its looped somehow but I cant quite figure out how its set up. Maby an amp somewhere? Any body know how the wiring works in this year or have access to a stereo wiring schematic? If it matters it a v8 5.0l, 2dr lx.

Welcome to the forum, adundee89. It sounds like he has connected two speakers to each channel or if it is a stand-alone tape deck he just added the wires to the speakers. No one can tell how someone else has run the wires but you. This means you will have to trace them out to see where they go. If all the speakers work now then just transfer the wires from the old speakers to the new ones.

He installed a tape deck, but its all factory wiring. All he did was buy a converter to convert the factory harness to the tape deck harness.
