ATF change

Some questions abouting changing ATF in the 6 cyl. engine:
1. How much fluid total does the transmission hold?
2. how much comes out when you drain?
3. since you don't get it all out when you drain, is it ok to fill with synthetic ATF (you'll be mixing syntethic with the regular stuff)?

Your trans hold 9-10 quarts but when you change your fluid you will only get 7 quarts out of it. No way to clear it all out with out disassembling the trans.

It is ok to mix the two types of fluid as long as the syn says its OK to mix. ;)

Didn't want to get covered with fluid when dropping the pan, so I bought the Wix tran. kit (with supposedly lifetime gasket, filter etc.) and 7 qts. of Dexron VI ATF and had my local garage hoist it up and do the dirty work. But the mechanic said it only takes 4 qts. and only uses that much to drain and refill, and in checking the view plug he said it was full. What gives?
