Major electical gremlins

I have a 1994 Pontiac Firebird 3.4L V6 and currently do not have any electricity reaching the passenger compartment. I have tested and replaced the alternator, the battery has been tested and is fine.
What happened was I was driving and when I would press the breaks, the radio would cut out for a couple seconds, then it eventually crossed over into the entire electrical system while using the breaks breaks. Lastly, when rolling up to a stop sign, it died completely when I pressed the breaks. No electrical at all. While trying to jump it, I would register voltage on the instrument panel but wouldn't be able to start or anything.
So, right now, after checking the battery and replacing the alternator, with the battery connected, I hear a "ticking" sound that can't be located and get nothing else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fuseable links down by the starter fried?
You really need a wiring diagram for your car to troubleshoot it well.

An electrically gifted friend of mine was able to figure it out last night. We checked the fusable links and they were fine. It was actually the battery posts and connections were dirty. You couldn't really see anything wrong, but after just cleaning them with baking soda and water, she fired right up and is in great condition now. Thanks for the help.
