spark plug gap?

I just bought somwe new NGK V power spark plugs, and i dont know what size the gap should be. I have a 02 Grand Prix GT, Thanks

Look on the emissions label and it shpould say on there for the gap.Most of the newer GM plugs and NGKs should be pre gapped,have a sleeve on the spark thread to protect them from shipping

Most makers of Iridium and Platinum plugs strongly suggest not re-gapping. You could do more damage (like knocking off one of the Platinum/Iridium discs or mis-aligning them) than good (getting the gap exactly spot on). If any look questionable, take them back and ask for new ones, and inspect them before you leave the store for obvious issues.

The NGK V Power spark plugs are similar to the Autolite Copper Core and have a solid copper core. They are not Iridium or Platinum and can be re-gapped. The recommended gap is .055”-.057”. For a GT with the L36 SII 3800 and no mods gap them at .057". For GTP with the L67 it depends on the the size of the supercharger pulley. Typical V-Power plugs used are either the TR55 or TR6 heat ranges.
