2.5 L - 4 cyl Throttle Body problem

My van sat for about 6 weeks and when I started it the throttle kept sticking. I found the shaft that runs through the throttle body had a sticking point that you could get by by forcing it past, but then it was stuck on the other side. Spraying it with carb cleaner helped a bit, but it still sticks. Mechanic thinks something is bent inside and I need a new throttle body. Don't know how it would get bent sitting there. Any suggestions?

Try taking throttle body off and cleaning with carb cleaner and toothbrush see if that helps. Be careful not to get any cleaner on Throttle Position Sensor.

I was travelling at the time and couldn't do it myself. First garage sprayed it with cleaner and charged me $100. After that I took the motor out and when the second garage was looking at that they removed the butterfly and found a bunch of corrosion which they cleaned up and charged me another $100. Expensive time with a motor install to boot. Good thing the motor was under warranty.
