the speakers on that vehicle i don't know for sure... but it will be 4x10 or 6x9 on rear... i use 6x9 and mount on 3/4 in plywood.. this gives best bass and little rattles as the speakers are locked solid.....the front doors 5 or 6 inch round would be best use plastic/foam shield for water protection.....
the mounting of rear speakers on the plywood is important especially if your going to have higher wattages than stock radio.........

No door speakers on these cars as delivered from the factory. Rears are 6x9 and the front speakers (in the dash), IIRC, are 3x5.

the 83 i had used the 3x5 dash speakers and i put door speakers in because the dash would not accept a larger magnet and the sun did damage the cone edges quickly...also the door acts as a baffle sound is better..the only bad thing was routing the speaker wire to the now door mounted speakers...
