1993 Pontiac Transport 3.8L:
1993 Pontiac Transport 3.8L - I have no power to drivers side switch that operates passenger side window. Passenger side window only goes down, not up from passengers side switch. Drivers side window switch works fine. What could be the problem?

I understand passenger window will go up and down from driver switch, but only down from passenger switch...right ?
+12V to the passenger switch is direct and it works since you can move the window down, but Ground to passenger window switch goes through the driver switch even when operated from passenger side.
This problem is common. In most cases, the problem is with a window switch, more tests would pin point with switch is the culprit, ...most often it is the driver switch, as two different ground paths are used for up and down.. www.avigex.ca/xport/pwrwindows.jpg but it could be either switch..

No, the passengers side won't go up and down with the drivers side switch. Only the passenger switch works putting the window down not up.

OK your problem is with the current going from contact E on driver switch to F on the passenger switch through TAN wire.
THere are in fact 3 possibilities:
- TAN wire is cut somewhere
- Internal contact within driver switch to contact E has failed
- Internal contact within passenger switch to contact F has failed.
My first attempt would be to remove driver switch , disconnect wire bundle from switch, insert a ground wire in the bundle connector to TAN and BLU/WHITE then to a solid ground (contacts A and E) ...well in fact, connect together A, E and B since B is a ground.
then turn key ON, try passenger door switch. IF then you can run UP and DOWN, the driver switch is shot.
