2004 Dodge Caravan - PCV removal

I give up. I have searched these previous posts and others for the instructions on how to remove the PCV valve on my wife's Caravan. I have located it on top of the rear valve cover.
Before even attempting to locate it, we bought the replacement valve (not OEM) and it is threaded. However, once I remove the over sized hose from the rear cover, much to my surprise, I see the top of the PCV inside what appears to be a molded tube permanently attached to the top of of the valve cover that I pulled the hose from. After attempting to to slide the PCV up the tube I gave up thinking there must be an easier way.
When I compare my replacement to what I see in that tube, there is no way that threaded base would even fit through that tube. Not only that, but the existing PCV was loose (able to slide up and down a little), like it wasn't threaded in at all.
After researching a few online aftermarket auto supply houses, and viewing those pics, they are showing pics that are right angled ......... now I'm really confused. I am usally pretty good at figuring out stuff like this but, this one has me baffled. :banghead:
This is a 2004 Dodge Caravan SXT 3.8Liter
Any Ideas ?
Thanks in advance.

My 97 is not threaded and right angled. You may have picked the wrong part.

If you can please post the Make and model number of the PCV valve you bought. The valve should be straight with a molded plastic elbow that goes over it.

I can't remember the number. I looked it up online, autozone site is showing a different kind of PCV. Different from the book that they have in the store.
Hmmm... This is strange...
