Question on noises

I know this is always problematic in our environment, but has anyone had experience with a heavy thudding in the rear suspension over sharp bumps, 99 GC, 4.0 automatic. Not the exhaust, also has new stab. links. I think it sounds like the ball joint in the cross brace for the diff houising any input is appeciated.
