Well after 123K my truck finally starting to hiccup. This is kinda hard to search for but here are the problems.
today I started the truck and everything was fine till I stepped on the brakes. As soon as that happened the rear abs and the brake light (dash lights) came on and all electrical power in the car shut off for just a second. curious I tried it again and the same thing happened. Just to make sure that it was something other than the brakes I decided to turn on the the head lights and it nearly killed the truck.
So I am thinking that I have either burned up another alternator or I now have a short some where in the brakes wiring system.
Anyone have similar experiences with this or possible answers? :dunno:

If you have a trailer harness i would unplug that and see what happens.

If the battery is +5yrs old I swap it out.

But in all luckyhood it is probably the alt.

If you have read many of the post here you already no isuzu's are very picky about alts.

OEM alts are the best or some have had luck with ones from Napa.

After reading many many threads about the alt and with plenty of experience with going through 3 of them in my 8 yrs of owning it that was my first guess. I have it at the shop now and will reply on the outcome. Go figure that it's like a child going to the doctor. The truck has some problems then you take it to the shop and everything seems to be back to normal. :banghead:

The shop found the problem and then some. It was a bad negetive cable on my battery so that was an easy and cheap fix. So on to the things that they found that were wrong that is leading me to possibly file a some strong worded complaints :swear: against a local tire place.
While having my electrical issue checked out I had them rotate the tires and check the brakes plus bearings. A month before this I took my truck to les schwab :loser: because of pulsating brakes and the usual checks. They told me that the pads were 50/70 and that my rotors were mildly warped and I could last for a few months. I got a call from the shop that I have most of my work done at and I have 10/30 on the pads and the front rotors and bearings are completely shot and I was just weeks away from something bad happening.
Thank goodness my eletrical problem happened now or I would have been in a crash or dead on the road.
I am in the navy and having a dependable place to take your car is sometimes very hard to find.
Thanks for the advise amigo-2k  This forum will always be an invaluable source for info regarding our zoo's
