Should the indicator light in the switch be on all the time, if it's not, where should i start looking for a remedy?

Has anyone changed the front output shaft bearing on the T-Case before?

When I grab the front driveshaft and wiggle it, the movement is at the case. It's little but still noticable.

the 4 wheel drive switch light should be on at all times........it will flash twice when changing to different modes.. if it flashes too many times its got problems... how long have you owned/noticed this problem ? does 4x4 work ?

did you check fuses with meter ? do you have any 4x4 service warning lights ? if so get DTC so that we can get you some help.....

I have the same issue with my 99. The indicator light randomly goes on and off while I'm driving. Sometimes, it just goes dim. It doesn't feel like it's switching in the transfer case, just the lights. The switch still works, the problem seems to be with the lights on the switch.

I would remove the 4X4 switch and resolder the circuit board .. this indiction is a bad solder joint in the switch assy... I 'm surprised that you do not get a service 4x4 light !
