High Idle

'95 Aurora with 235000 miles. I had something new happen the other day. It had been sitting for about a week and I when I started it the RPMs seem to be normal but when I headed out the driveway I noticed they started climbing a little, by the time I got to the main road it was like the cruise control was on. I was running down the road doing 65 MPH and not giving it any gas. I pulled in at the corner store and had to stand on the brakes to make it stop. At a stop, in gear, it was idling at 2200 rpms, putting it in park took it over 3500, I turned it off and on several times but it stayed like this, the RPMs ran from 3000 to 3700. The next day I decided to see if I could fiind what the problem was, but when I cranked it up everything was normal. It's been about a week now and it has not reoccured. The engine light did not come on (not that I have a way to check it) and I checked, the cruise control was turned off. Thanks

One of two possible fixes: 1. TPS sensor, 2. IAC sensor most likely sounds like a TPS sensor though. goodluck
