Gas Tank Harness

There is a 4 wire harness running out of the gas tank and plugs into a floor mounted female connector. Can someone tell me which wire is the ground. I am trying to trace a possible bad ground to the fuel sender unit and it would help if someone could advise me as to which one is the common ground. Thanks :runaround: 95 trans sport se 3.8

I believe the black/white wire is the ground for that circuit

Well as from what I can see from under here, the wires go to a connector on the floor and then are run under the carpet to???????? somwhere. I ma going to trace the wires this afternoon and see where they go. I know that the Violet one goes to the dash gauge, I believe the grey one is the fool pump, so that leaves two more to choose from. :banghead:

the fuel sender circuit and the fuel pump circuit each use a separate ground, hence 4 wires. The ground for the sending unit follows thru the floor around the drivers seat, runs along by the door to the ground stud located behind the left side kick panel, behind the parking brake pedal.

Took the connector apart and cleaned it, and the gauge seems to be working now. I did have a remote mirror problem but I ran a seperate ground wire fron the harness in the mirror wires:icon16: and now they work good.
