picked up this '90 Civic SI during lunch today...interior is flawless minus the damage to the drivers seat...has a few dents and dings here and there and needs springs and a new distributor in the near future...got it for a great price and feels good to only pay $30 to fill up and now i can park the Land Cruiser and work on that

no thank you sir. i finally bought a car that runs fine...only thing is that he used solid rubber mounts for the engine, so at idle everything not tird down or tightened vibrates

Nice ride. I forget, does it have the rear disc brake conversion? I know it has a b18a. Looks really clean. I'm not big on the roof rack but I know you bike so it should come in handy. Or didn't you say you were thinking of selling it? I like the decal on the rear window too. Lucky bastard...

Unfortunately it doesn’t have rear disc, but I’ll go scope out the junkyards for a set…saw a set last time I was there…and I’m selling the roof rack since I have a hitch mount rack for the LC, overall I’m happy with it…first hb w/o vinyl

HELL YEAH there are!
I didnt even really want red, but now my whole car is turning into a red/black color scheme and im beginning to like it. I can see with new paint itd look clean.
Is that phoenix red or rio?
I would kill for a tahitian civic. There is one real close to me and the guy PAINTED IT! a horrible single stage two tone grey and dark grey. Ugh *shudder*

yeah i like the black and red colour scheme it amost always looks good. almost all the 4g civics i see around me (in minnesota)are red. mine is gray and it was the first one i had ever sceen in gray that wasent a primer flat aftermarket deal. i have owned 4 hatches and they all have been red expept my current one.also do your wheels rub with it sitting so low? if my car was that low i would get stuck going out of my apts. parking lot

suprisingly enough, it doesn't rub at all...great on the highway, crap on city streets...i've already made mental notes of places i can and can't go...will be happy when i get my new suspension :)
but i've been looking for a while and i'm happy with my choice...for the money, it wasn't the very best or close to being the worse...first civic that i bought that cost over $1000

Yes... too low. Wow!
You say it has ITR pistons. Does that mean you have high compression? Do you use high octane fuel? I remember the days of high cr pistons in a non-vtec engine... fun but scary...

it has ITR pistons (as i was told buy the guy)...but not sure of the compression...think i'll go rent a compression test kit from autozone to find out...and no i don't use high octane fuel...i won't either unless i have too :nono:

Just listen for the dreaded 'marbles in a can', if you hear it, bump up the octane
turtlecrxsi
04-14-2008, 01:52 PM
"marbles in a can" Yeah, that's a good description. I tried 89 octane in my d16a6 with p29 pistons. I made it home, syphoned that shit out and immediately put 93 in it. Didn't matter though, shitty wiring of my Jacobs coil box and faulty dizzy made it go boom! So sad...
Your car looks sweet, BLU. I'd be scared to drive it sitting that low though.
