1999 alero fuel sender seems to have gone haywire
I have pulled the tank and looked at the harness connections they look clean and no green at the terminals.
I dont know how long this pump assy. has been in this vehicle.
The pump assembly is out and looking at it the float lever seems a bit loose. So here i am looking at the two brush/levers that touch the flat plastic or ceramic piece that is the resistor of sorts i guess. ( wished i could see better)
Any how i connected the dvm terminals to the two wires of the sender I set the meter on 20k, with the float down I read .31 on the screen hmm ok so slowly go up with the float and what?/?##& .07 smooth thru .31 hmh!
So if i keep it close to empty probably 2-3 gallons i will have a full tank :grinyes:
but some how if i wait long enough or stare at it hard or possibly lean against the car in the garage the guage drops to empty and the low light comes on.
( what a way to get gas money) if i was 17 again.
?? replace what is the question, I didnt but could check gpm if i knew the spec. Im putting this up for discussion Thanks
