98 eclipse RS

We got a 98 Eclipse RS for free from a lady who tipped it on its side and couldnt afford the towing bill (no insurance or money) (my dad owns a bodyshop).It only need 2 mirrors, exterior door handles, quarter panel, fender straightened, and a front bumper cover. We were just going to straighten the fender a little and fasten the bumpercover down good. Do you think we could get away with selling it for 2k? Its got almost new tires, 89,000 miles, good interior, no broken glass. and the airbags didnt go off. It still runs and drives good. can we get 2k on craigslist for it?

It depends on how bad the body looks. It sounds like your not going to replace the fender or bumper, if those parts look all messed up and hanging off your not going to get anything for the car. If the body panels look good then you should be able to get around that price. Location has a lot to do with it also.

I'm more cautious about the airbags not deploying. Could be soemthing wrong with the system. And if you sell it and someone gets really hurt on a head on with no good bags, it may come back and bite you. Just throwing that out there.

You might be able to get 2k for it... More likely from a first time car buyer rather than somebody who has previous experience with these types of vehicles... Just target the young ones and you'll be in good shape I think. lol :thumbsup:

Airbags only go off on front or rear impact. If the car rolled on its side the it didn't trip the sensors.

Just making sure, I know my old car I blew the bags on and I jsut replaced them and didn't replace the clockspring or the module. I guess they can get 2k for it.

yea she went in a ditch and rolled, no front or rear impact. We are going to fasten the bumper back on so that everything is nice and tight and working properly. We are targeting a young kid thats going to want to put a body kit on it and have all those big ideas. People always try to talk you down anyways..thats why im aiming high. we would be happy with 1500 cash for it.
