What do you guys think is a reasonable, average, and highest and lowest price to pay to have a GSR head resurfaced at a machine shop? Thanks in advance.

All depends on what you want done, anything extra?

Nothing extra. I just want it resurfaced flat so that I can install a new head gasket. I'm confident that I don't need a valve job and I plan on polishing out the ports myself. If I did have them do anything else it would be to get that damn compression gauge hose out of the spark plug threads.

i would first measure to see if you need a resurfaced head... if its still within spec, it may be a waste of money

Well I called around today and found a shop that will resurface it for only $30. So how do you determine if the head is within spec? What tools or equipment would I need?

30$??? that doesnt sound right.... and you can get a FSM and look at the procedure there

Yeah I know it sounds cheap but here is their website: http://www.eddingsengine.com/home/
I know this might sound funny but what exactly is an FSM?
