Hey guys. I had my intake manifold replaced, oil changed and valve covers redone. Now my car stalls, sputters when I accelarate, seems like a fuel injector problem I took it back to the mechanic and he says my intake coils and spark plugs need to be replaced. What does this have to do with intake manifold?? I bought all the parts new but I am scared to take it to the same mechanic because I never had a problem with this car, alwyas ran perfect. After he touched it now it drives like crap. The car is a 99 Tc with 95k miles and is in great shape except for this now. Any help, opinions would be greatly appreciated!!:banghead: :disappoin

You might still have a Intake Manifold Leak!

Objective:

Using STARTING FLUID to pin point Inake Manifold leaks.

1) Get some starting fluid.
2) With the car running, spray starting fluid near EGR valve.
Does the engine run smoother?
If yes, there's a air leak going into your Intake near EGR VALVE.
3) If Not use starting fluid around Intake manifold gasket.

I have heard Technicans using WD40 with red straw to pin point Inake Leaks.
GOOD LUCK!

Also...
How long has it been since the work was done? It takes roughly 50 miles, or a few driving cycles for the PCM to re-learn and adjust to normal driving conditions.

Are you seeing a Check Engine Lamp?

You are correct to be suspicious of this mechanic.. he shouldn't have returned the car to you in that condition.

No check engine light,no visible leaks. The work was done last week and right after I got it the misfires started. I am having another mech check it out today.

The coils will throw fault codes if they go bad. If it not real bad, it might just be the PCM re-learning issue.. this will happen every time you disconnect the battery.

GOOD JOB!
Becareful ,that injector clip might be missing a part!
I had to use BLK Permatex Intake sealent to fix the connector into the
injector.

Note: I couldn't find replacment part,it looks like those little blk clips on the coil connectors!
The one that falls into that sparkplug Boss and you need a shop-vac to get it out.

HEY!
Let's take a cruise on spring break,SCK38 cars not running!
