Steering wheel

I have a 2000 wagon and the Wife has a '99 sedan, does anyone know if the steering wheel from a '99 or older Taurus will fit my 2000. The reason I ask is that I much prefer the thinner wheel of the earlier models. If all that has to be changed is the wheel, then I could get one from the wreckers.
