I posted a thread ... Head Job/Ring Job a few weeks ago. I was advised to do the block and rings at the same time. I was wondering if I need to pull the engine. I have never done the lower end on a car engine befor. Is there anyone out there that knows the tricks of the trade when redoing the main bearings, rod bearings and rings. I bought the proper hone. Would it be wise to put a new oil pump in. Any advice would be great.

Run a search for Doctor Bill's 'Flight of The Phoenix' (sp?). He documented very well his experience with rebuilding his own 3cyl. I do believe he did his 'block-in-car' so you're bound to have a lot of questions/concerns answered that way. I've always taken my engines out for machining when rebuilding mine, so I don't have any experience doing them in-car.

*CORRECTION* This (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=613410&highlight=life+after+death) is Doctor Bill's thread you'd be interested in. Nevertheless, both threads are full of good stuff!
