I need a Car

Hi. This is kind of car related so I thought I'd post on this forum. Anyway, I am planning a cross-country road trip for this summer and I do not have a car that can handle it. I thought maybe a company would pay for their ad to be on a car that would be hitting a lot of major cities in the U.S. and could sort of cover the cost of the car. All the websites that try to find companies for you seem like scams though, and don't let you really explain your situation. Anyone know anything about this? Anyone have any other ideas of how to get a car? Anyone want to buy me a car and put an ad on it? :)

You can afford a cross country trip, but can't afford a car that can make it. Sounds like your priorities are a bit askew.

Good luck finding someone to buy advertising on someone who's going to be driving around. Half the cars out there now have bumper stickers or dealer plate covers advertising something already.

Not likeley to find a sponcer. They would have to be nation wide and no one locally will put up money for you to advertise accross the nation. You can get cars taht will make the trip for around 1000-1500 bucks. Just look in your local paper! And if your looking for a car from anyone here you waisting your time.

I have a car I'll sell you. $800 1996 Chevrolet Beretta. 2.2L engine, manual 5 spd trans. New front brake pads. New tires in front, more than 6/32" on rear. Oil changes always done at 3,000 miles or less. Some rust on the lower portion, and around the rear wheels. Rolled one time so it looks a bit rough, but runs perfect (it does need an upstream O2 sensor though). It also leaks a bit of water around the drivers door and sometimes through a hole in the roof where a fence post went through when I rolled it, I tried to seal the hole with RTV sealant, but it leaks if the temperature is right. Of course, you'd have to make it to Iowa. If you want it, PM me and I'll give you all the details.

Another crazy thought... why not fly or take a train? Much cheaper and no chance of breaking down.

Get a motorcyle, less gas. There, I was helpful. Now don;t get lost and die while out there. What a loss to the world it'd be.

Ok I guess I didn't really explain. The point is that I don't want to put thousands of miles on a good car driving all around the country. I figured that if I just got a cheap car it might just end up breaking down and not worth bothering with. I'm thinking my best bet might be just renting a car, but I figured I would see if there were any good alternatives.

Yea its against the rules to be angry too... but well I don't care, you should've got the gist of that by now. The moderators are so helpful here. Anyway, are your telling me I shouldn't post something under a topic that is allowed to be about anything? Good logic...
