Ok guys i want to swap the engine on my 2001 eclipse with an evo 8 engine but i want to swap the tranny to will the evo 8 tranny fit and how much will this cost me and how long will it take thank you

Where would your driveshaft go off of the EVO 8 tranny. It IS awd, it WILL have a shaft for the transfer case to go to the rear wheels.

How the hell do i know how much it would cost?? Can you not use "google" or a search function anywhere?? EBAY maybe? Evolutionm.net?? club3g.com??

DID YOU KNOW we answered a question very similar to this not more than 5 threads ago in this very forum from some other dumbass kid that thinks everything is as easy as asking and doing?

I'm not laughing at you, I'm saddened that you wouldn't bother to read everything available to you before asking a stupid question taht has already been answered MULTIPLE times.

If you have to ask how long it will take, then you didn't ask a shop, because there is a 100% chance that they will be the ones doing it, and you can even ask them how much it will cost.

And just so you know, when your first post in a forum is "I want an engine swap" i'm able to assume you aren't more than 18 years old. Your parents bought you the car. "money" isn't an issue. And you've never even changed your brake pads.

Wow... Seriously, how much research have you done on this swap? Since it isn't your first swap, then you should already have a pretty good idea at about how long it will take to do this kind of swap and about how much it costs too... Ya know, since this is your 5th engine swap and all...

If you bothered to read that instead of asking something that was CLEARLY covered over a year ago, maybe then we would have been a little nicer.

Here so you dont have to work your brain to much trying to find the thign.

Motor Swap. = NO, Your stock motor is more than enough. Turbo it and swap to a manual. Even swap heads with an EVO VIII.
Guys with EVOs put our crank in them for more displacement.

ECU tuning. After you swap to a manual get a ecu for one to. Flash the ECU with EVO ROM. Basically gives you standalone for 1/10th the price.

Here's what I think... I think you guys need to be a little less tense on these types of threads. Granted, it is a very dumb question that gets asked a lot and gets on all of our nerves. But can't you just overlook it or give the criticism in a more constructive manner? I would actually like to see the sections I manage grow and gain members rather than chasing any new ones off when they do come around... Are engine swaps and such even covered in our few stickies we have? Maybe we should put together a few of the FAQ into one thread and sticky it. Then when we come across a thread like this one, instead of chasing people off with negative posts, we could just post a link to that FAQ sticky that we make... If the more experienced members are up for doing something like that, then throw me a PM and we'll get something going here for it...

And nycqueensking, grow up a little bit. I know you were jumped all over in your first thread, but there is no need for your sarcasm on top of things here already... :nono:
