What happend here? After day 1 is completed not even a thread about it? Well anyway here's a quick round-up of day one.

* Loeb got lost between stage 3 and 4 - where the refuelling was planned - and as a consequence, het ran out of fuel... :confused: go figure!!

* Martin driving top times after SS4 but is in 13th due to early gear-box problems

* Solberg out on SS4 with broken suspention

* Gronholm dropped back to 12th after power steering failure

Wow, that is an interesting result for day one, nobody is really doing what anyone expected......except Loeb:p

Anyway, it's been a wild day there in Turkey and what happended to Loeb, :confused: :bloated: :confused: , I still don't understand. But El Matador is running second, so that's good.

C. Sainz...winning......looks as if most of us we're wrong

Regardless of who thought what, I think it would almost be fitting, and perfect, if Sainz got the win, especially ahead of that scottish team mate of his.

I will also be happy if Burns can hold station and take second for Pug, although I am sure he will be attacking in the morning.....

Burns will be nursing that car like a baby! I wouldn't want to see Provera angry - I've seen him happy! :eek: :)

Can't help but feel for Harri. What does he have to do? :(

Markko seems to be having a good comeback. If only ....

Seems like the teams should have saved last years Safari cars for the Rally of Turkey. It is proving to be just as big a car breaker as Kenya used to be.

Absolutely gutted for Harri, for a moment there it looked like he was going to recieve just compensation for efforts. Now we've got to hope nothing happens to Carlos, otherwise Burnsie could win it :devil:

Wonder if Carlos, having regained/equalled the crown for most rally victories, will grandstand and challenge Schumacher to a duel like Colin did last year? :silly2:

I did a quick calcul. and IF things stay the way they are - with 2 stages left - Burnsie will take the lead in the Championship with 18 points, followed by McRae and Sainz with both 16 points.

Let's see how the last 2 stages are going to be...

And who was saying Citroën was going to be nowhere on gravel?? :flipa:

I´m so mad that mäkinen had that problem, his my second favorite driver :( but markko is climbin up da ladder

By all reports those stages aren't filled with gravel - rather razor sharp boulders! This rally isn't about speed, it's survival. If Marcus and Harri or Petter and Tommi had had a clear run the story would be different.

However so much for what could have been, this Peugeot supporter is with you now Guido, hoping Sainz in the Citroen can hold off Mr Burns.

Last stage is under way, and the old fox is leading by more than a minute ...

Markko has been in the top 3 during most of the stages today - that boy is fast! :eek:

Great job by Duvall, especially when there were doubts on how the co-driver change to Stephane Prevot would turn out with so little time to get "used" to each other.

Hey! I like him probably more than him. I was heartbroken when he had to retire several hundred of metres before the championship!

Maybe we see the rally of Kenia back on the menu next year.

Carlos El Matador Sainz is back :D this year will promise a lot a fight within the PSA Group cars PUG VS CITROEN. But still we have to see what happen to the new Focus in New Zeland

Marcus Gronholm is known as "Bosse", Harri Rovanpera is "Rovis", Petter Solberg is "Hollywood" and of course Burns is the "Ginger Whinger"! Any other nicknames for drivers out there?

Then again, I have heard nearly everydriver of Finnish origin referred to as 'the flying Fin' at some time or another.
