79 cutlass spark?

a 78 cutlass just got a chevy 350 put in it ran berore motor swap. the wire on the hei gets power with key on engine off but when you turn it over no spark:banghead: any ideas? changed dist,coil,alt,batt,cables,fuseable links..:screwy:

Is it powered when cranking, the 12v wire at the Hei?

Ok, that wire you have connected to the dist should be powered by a live circuit during cranking as well as key on, find one out of the ign switch or fuse block and rewire it.
