Best performance for under $1K

As everyone should know it's that time of year where some of us get our tax returns. Now the problem comes when you have to decide what to buy. I decided i was done with looks other than my suspension deal and its time to do a little more upgrades on the engine. Now the question is What would you guys suggest i buy that is under $1k that will give me the best power gains. all ideas are welcome!

how about an underdrive pulley set?

does that really give you a noticeable power gain?

nitrous set-up, most bang for the buck. ppl mite say "thats jus cheap..." yea, its exactly that...CHEAP POWER. an if u get a set-up correctly installed, u'll be fine (ur motor).

Im not a big fan of nitrous to be honest with you. I know this is an ongoing argument but i personally feel that it should be used as a finishing touch, meaning that once you have done a lage part in modifying the engine then you get a nitrous setup to finish it off. anyone can buy a bottle and throw it on their car(s) but not everyone is willing to rip their car to peices and rebuild it with upgraded parts. Once again this is just a personal opinion, i dunno maby it's just the area i live in but around here we like to do things the hard way.

an i respect that, but this guys' askin the BEST performance under 1k, has got to be nitrous. it is by far the best bang for the buck if ur on a tyte budget.
