94 Thunderbird, stereo question

(I'm not sure if it makes a difference on the car) But I had a Kenwood stereo in my car, and my car got broken into and the faceplate got stolen (Yes, just the faceplate). It looks like they tried to rip out the stereo itself because of the bent edges and all that, but I took it to Auto Zone and they have not the slightest clue on how to get it out. Surprising because Auto Zone is usually pretty helpful. But I know a DIN Tool is used to remove it, but how would I know if a DIN tool is needed? Where would the holes be located? I didn't see any, but I could be missing something. Also, if I can't use that tool, what other way would I get it out? I already have a new stereo and I need this one out. Any help would be appreciated.

try a butter knife down the center of the sides [the short sides] right and left of radio between sleve and stero

The holes for the radio removal tool are located on the far right and left sides of the radio. The retaining clips, that the removal tool contacts, are about an inch back from the front of the radio. Welcome to the forum Shaze8.
