I hit a jack rabbit on my way to Vegas this last weekend and it busted up plastic including the fan that I'm assuming works as a secondary air intake coolant for the radiator. I'm trying to figure out the name of the part as well as what it will take to replace it, i.e. does the radiator need to come out, etc. Does anyone know about this?

What year Bimmer? If you are referring to the fan behind the radiator that is the auxiliary fan and works in conjunction with the viscous fan to add cooling especially for the AC, it has two speeds and is controlled by a temperature sensor that is probably, depending on year, screwed into the upper part of the radiator. Take a look at realoem.com for the part.

Word man and thanks for the site recommendation. I took it into my mechanic and I'm getting hooked up for cheaper than the part itself, time included. Thanks again.
