Attention all the car tune-up experts...I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP coupe, I the question that I want to ask is, "what is the best spark plug and spark plug wires to use on a GTP?" Because I can feel it starting to lose it's power. Or do anyone have any suggestions on what I should do, but certainly I know it's time for a tune-up. So can someone PLEASE if your out there help me....:grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes:
THANX.

Well i have a Pontiac Grand Prix GT with the 3.8, but no supercharger. I think the AC Delco plugs are what you should use, look in your manuel to find out exaclty what kind of AC plug they want you to use. Your Air Filter probably needs to be changed to....mabey clean up your MAF to with some MAF spray, and to be honest, you can buy GM fuel system cleaner at the dealership, that stuff is really helpful to clean your valves, ports and injectors up, but its expensive

Welcome to AF.
Always post your mileage on these issues. For ignition wires use the AC Delco Premium Silicone 7mm ignition wires. Also, replace the fuel filter as part of the tune up.
Are you getting any misfires or blinking SES/CEL light? Other issues can cause a lack of power.

well...everyone has their opinions on plugs and wires. personally i use the NGK V-powers w/ not real sure of the exact namebrand wires, but they are the lifetime warrenty ones from Napa.
also yes, like previously mentioned...change the fuel filter, and take a look at the air filter

unless you're modded, stick with AC-Delco Iridium or NGK-Iridium (they make Delco plugs now) plugs and premium grade wires like AC-Delco or Autolite Professiona series. Avoid no-brand wires, as you get what you pay for.

I agree on the plugs and wires. Whatever you do DON'T use Bosch plats in your GM. :nono:
