Suiciding doors

I'm in a bit of a jam.
I cut a door off my diecast ford. I bought jewlery box hinges to suicide the doors. The normal hinge when you open the door, the door hits the body. Can anybody help me make this work? :banghead:

The diecast forum might be more help, I think they have more experience with this.
