I WAS CONSIDERING ONE OF THE TWO OPTIONS HERE
http://www.brainerdautobody.com/PARTS/bras_bugshields_and_deflectors.htm
EITHER THE FULL FRONTAL BRA FOR MY 04 CIVIC OR JUST THE HOOD DEFLECTOR - ARE THESE BAD FOR THE PAINT, I AM JUST SICK OF GETTING ROCK CHIPS IN THE FRONT MY CAR

Bought one for my 05 and liked it pretty well. you will be taking it off about every 30 days to clean underneath it, but I wouldnt worry about the paint. the new bras have a soft liner that protects the paint real well.

Greetings and Salutations
I have used both Full Front-end covers (LeBra brand to be exact) and Bug Deflectors.
Both work well for protecting the front end from bugs and stone chips.
Now the Bug Deflector does this by changing the Aerodynamics your vehicle. It will keep bugs and small (very small) stones from hitting the leading edge of your hood and windshield, by either hitting the deflector and bouncing off (or over) your vehicle, or the aerodynamics blowing them up and over your vehicle. If this is what you are looking to protect...then the Bug Guard would be the best way to go. Keep in mind that most Car bug defectors attach to your vehicle via double stick tape or screws (sometimes by requiring drilling) so chose carefully. I recommend one that you can get you hand behind to clean debris out. Also, I recommend the one that uses screws, so that it can be removed at any time should a replacement be needed due to a big rock cracking the guard (which I have had happen)...because double stick tape is almost impossible to remove neatly or easily.
Now Full Front-end covers, they work very well for protect the Bumper and leading edge of the hood from rock (even small and medium sized ones, larger stones can still damage, usually by denting, the bumper or hood underneath) and any bugs that hit it. They are easy to clean and usually easy to install and remove. They usually come with a soft cloth backer to prevent damaging the paint. HOWEVER...I would strongly recommend that, if you go with the Front-end cover, to wax the front end very, very well with a good paste wax. Also remove it at least once every couple of months to clean dust and dirt from the cloth backer, other wise it can and will scratch the paint. Lastly, depending on what color your car is, paint fading is going to occur. If you wash and wax your vehicle regularly, then the fading will be hard to notice…but if you put it on and forget it, you may find the paint under the front-end cover will be brighter than the rest of your vehicle.
So that’s my experience with bug guards and front end covers…hope that helps.

Yeah I wouldn't use a bra unless your going on a long driving trip.
I have used painters Blue Tap on the front of my car to help with bugs on my new paint but yeah
I have a Bug reflector and it looks sick!
