i love mine, they kinda sucked installing them because of the gas/temp gauges, but it all worked well. I like them cause they look OEM, i hate the ones that have logos and APC crap on them, these are really clean. http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/skatemesa1/images/indiglo.jpg

crxlvr: im looking for gauge inserts that are just white, none of that reverse indiglo crap. are yours gauge inserts or are they overlays and if they're inserts, where did you get them and how much were they?

..gotta paint your needle orange on the indiglow gauges :)

be careful of the ebay gauges...they advertise them as for 88-91, when in actuality alot of them are 88-89 kits.... and 88-89 and 90-91 have differen clusters.

i have a dx auto, and i just got the si ones, they are the same thing excpet you dont have the gear selector lights in the middle of the Fuel/temp guage, but if you cant tell what gear your in, you shouldnt be driving.

yeah but will the si gauges fit on the dx ones, i didnt think they would match up because the si has the tach and the dx doesnt

I got mine off e-bay the only guys selling reverse glo ones. I had had the regular ones and they worked fine. At least for the last 4 months that I had them on. Yes I do have a grant wheel The big one like 15" I got that one cause I want to see my gauges unlike the smaller 13" that gets in the way.

no, they wont, but you can get a set of indiglo's for the DX cluster... talk to 4g4dStore and he can give you details and price, I'm ordering mine through him after I get a DX cluster (c'mon is everybody throwing them away?!)

Are the 4th generation civic si cluster and 1990 crx si cluster the same?

Tony
03-02-2003, 05:04 PM
yes, the Civic and CRX clusters are the same, the difference is in the years. 88-89 clusters are a little bit smaller, have 4 screws around the temp and fuel gauges, and the seat belt light is just one little spot, not one big spot like it is on the 90-91 clusters.

i just got my si cluster today and i have some indiglows coming anyday now, how ever im seeing that i will probally have to drill a hole for the wires to go through the cluster? also how long do indiglows last, im hearing a few months, when they burn out, can you still see it at night?
im starting to think i should just leave the cluster how it is and sell the indiglows to someone more adventurous.... i think my only concerns is:

getting the gauge wires to the back of the cluster and how long they will last and whats the side effects of burnt out ones.... anyone have any info on that?

No holes need to be drilled, Life of indiglos depend on who makes them I guess, Ive had mine for about 2 years, the only problem is that I can't adjust the color anymore out of 7 colors, I am stuck with one color, although I can still adjust the brightness. If they burn out, you will still be able to see at night if you do not take out the bulbs on the top of the cluster. Getting the wires to the back of the cluster is easy, you just need to lay the gauge trim on top of the indiglos and it will hide the upper electical plugs and the wires will be hidden when you route them behind the cluster assemly. Just dont worry about the indiglos burning out on you, buy from a good brand and dont buy APC.

When you say "buy from a good brand"....can you classify a few that 'would' be good brands?

Hey it may be old...but if new guys do a search and find something and want to ask a question that pertains to an old thread it may pop up again...I'm glad this one did...'cause I'm considering getting rev. ind's for my si cluster...

ok well i took the cluster apart and i can see how the gauges fit in, but im wondering how to get the wires out the back? is there an open space where like the lights are to slide the wires out to plug into the controller?
also where did you hook up the hot and ground wire? ive heard some people say they did this, yet on a site i read that is would burn them up not to use that...

Well I wish i remembered on who made my indiglos, But maybe if you were to ask seller "unitedindiglo" at ebay on what brand of indiglos he sold, you can get some info. Ive had mine for over 2 years and they never burned out on me.
