Hi everyone. I'm brand new here, and I have a perplexing problem. I have a 1985 Buick Regal, 6 cylinder.
A couple of years ago I had a turn signal problem. Had it fixed, and everything was fine. I believe they replaced the turn signal switch.
Last year, the cruise control started kicking in when I turned the steering wheel. Had to pull the fuse to stop it. Then the horn would go off sometimes when the steering wheel was turned.
Also, from time to time, I would have to turn the key several times to start the car. Now for the current situation.
When I turn the key to on, I hear a rapid clicking noise. Dash lights stay on. I turn the ignition key to start the car and the clicking noise is still there, the lights stay on and don't even dim. Headlights don't dim either, but absolutely nothing else happens. Battery less than a year old. Cables have clean connections. Autozone guy, when I bought my battery last year, said I have a faulty diode, but I can't remember if he said in the starter or alternator.
Any idea what this could be? Broken wire at the ignition switch maybe?
Thanks for the help!
Craig

That's the funniest thing I have read in a long time.
I had a 72 limited.
It had cigar lighters in the back seats both sides.
When the electrics went on it it was quite a show.
The headlights started going strop for a few times then the whole car went dead.
you have a ground problem.
Cheers
